Description

Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore was widely considered the greatest wizard of modern times. A tall, thin man with a long silver beard and half-moon spectacles, he was known for his calm demeanor, eccentric manner, and extraordinary magical power. He was the only wizard Voldemort ever feared.

Background

Dumbledore served as Headmaster of Hogwarts for decades, shaping generations of witches and wizards. He also held the position of Chief Warlock of The Wizengamot and Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards. A close friend and protector of Nicolas Flamel, he helped safeguard the Philosopher’s Stone when it was threatened.

He was a master of many branches of magic, particularly Transfiguration, and was the discoverer of the twelve uses of dragon’s blood. He wielded the Elder Wand, the most powerful wand in existence.

History

In 1945, Dumbledore defeated the dark wizard Grindelwald in a legendary duel, ending the Global Wizarding War. This victory cemented his reputation as the most powerful wizard alive.

In 1971, as Voldemort’s power grew, Dumbledore founded the Order of the Phoenix to oppose the rising dark forces. He became the central figure in the resistance against Voldemort during both Wizarding Wars.

After Voldemort’s return in 1995, Dumbledore dedicated himself to uncovering and destroying Horcruxes. He discovered and destroyed Gaunt’s Ring, one of Voldemort’s Horcruxes, but in doing so suffered a fatal curse that slowly spread through his hand and body.

Knowing he was already dying, Dumbledore arranged with Severus Snape to be killed at the top of the Astronomy Tower in 1997. This served the dual purpose of sparing Draco Malfoy from committing murder and solidifying Snape’s position as a trusted servant in Voldemort’s inner circle.

Dumbledore is deceased. His tomb rests on the grounds of Hogwarts, near the Black Lake.
