Description
Molly Weasley is the matriarch of the Weasley family, a formidable witch whose fierce love for her children is matched only by her skill with household magic and her legendary temper when her family is threatened.
Background
Molly is a pure-blood witch and a devoted member of the Order of the Phoenix. She raised seven children largely on her own while her husband Arthur worked at the Ministry of Magic. Despite the family’s modest means, the Burrow was always a place of warmth, home-cooked meals, and hand-knitted jumpers. Molly opened her home without hesitation to Harry Potter and others who needed a family.
History
During the Battle of Hogwarts, Molly demonstrated the full extent of her power when she killed Bellatrix Lestrange in a duel — driven by maternal fury after Bellatrix nearly struck down her daughter Ginny. The moment cemented her reputation as one of the most fearsome witches of her generation. The battle also brought the family’s greatest sorrow: the death of her son Fred.
In the years following Voldemort’s defeat, Molly found solace in her family’s growth. As her children married and started families of their own, she delighted in becoming a grandmother. Eventually she had twelve grandchildren — seven granddaughters (including one named Molly after her, born to Percy and his wife Audrey) and five grandsons. She and Arthur remain at the Burrow, which continues to serve as the heart of the sprawling Weasley clan.
