Description

George Weasley is one half of the legendary Weasley twins and co-founder of Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, the famous joke shop in Diagon Alley. Sorted into Gryffindor, George is inventive, irreverent, and endlessly creative. He lost his left ear during the war — cursed off by Severus Snape during the Battle of the Seven Potters — and jokes about it often, calling himself “holey” (or “saint-like,” since he’s holy).

Background

George and his twin brother Fred were members of the Order of the Phoenix and fought in the Battle of Hogwarts. They had left Hogwarts before graduating to open their joke shop, which became one of the few bright spots in Diagon Alley during the dark days of the war. Their products — from Extendable Ears to Skiving Snackboxes — were not only commercially successful but proved genuinely useful to the resistance.

Fred was killed during the Battle of Hogwarts, and George never truly got over the loss of his twin. The absence of Fred is a wound that time has softened but never healed.

History

Despite his grief, George continued running Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, and the shop saw tremendous success in the post-war years. His brother Ron eventually left his career as an Auror to join George in running the business, giving George both a business partner and a renewed sense of family in the shop.

Their products became legendary — the Puking Pastilles alone became considered contraband in most wizarding workplaces. George became “the bane of many professors’ existence” at Hogwarts and beloved by students worldwide who sought out his inventions.

George married Angelina Johnson, who had previously dated Fred. Together they have two children: Roxanne and Fred, the latter named in loving memory of George’s twin.
