Description
Nymphadora Tonks (who preferred to be called simply “Tonks”) was a half-blood witch and Metamorphmagus — able to change her appearance at will. She was an Auror for the Ministry of Magic and a member of the Order of the Phoenix. Known for her clumsiness, her vibrant personality, and her signature bubblegum-pink hair, Tonks was one of the youngest members of the Order during the Second Wizarding War.
History
Tonks was the daughter of Andromeda Black (sister of Bellatrix Lestrange and Narcissa Malfoy) and Ted Tonks, a Muggle-born wizard. Her mother was disowned by the Black family for marrying a Muggle-born. Tonks graduated from Hogwarts (Hufflepuff) and qualified as an Auror under Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody.
She joined the Order of the Phoenix when it reformed in 1995 and fell in love with Remus Lupin, despite his initial reluctance due to his lycanthropy, age, and poverty. They married and had a son, Teddy Lupin, who inherited her Metamorphmagus abilities.
Tonks was killed by her aunt Bellatrix Lestrange during the Battle of Hogwarts, leaving behind her infant son.
Current Status
Deceased. Killed at the Battle of Hogwarts on May 2, 1998. Her son Teddy Lupin was raised by her mother Andromeda Tonks.
