She wears a soot-stained leather coat covered in pockets and burn marks, ever-present flying goggles, and steel-toed boots that stomp like thunder.
Personality
Grimbella Thistlepin is gruff, no-nonsense, and built entirely out of muscle, sarcasm, and grit, with no patience for fools but fierce protection for students who listen and treat creatures with respect. She has a dry, gravelly voice and endless scathing commentary, usually delivered mid-action while saving someone from their own recklessness.
Background
Grimbella is the first goblin ever hired as a full professor at Hogwarts, brought in after the previous professor’s “medical sabbatical” involving a fire crab. Before teaching, she served as an independent magical beast wrangler and field trainer, wrangling everything from thunderbirds in Peru to graphorns in endangered highlands.
Story
Grimbella arrived like a force of nature during the Forbidden Forest ambush, rescuing Blithe Thimblethorn from extremists in a storm of fire and magic. When she saw Elias Flint laughing at Primrose Calloway’s humiliation—her wand broken by the attackers—Grimbella cursed him without hesitation.
After the fight, Caoimhe Keelan and her friends hid to eavesdrop on Grimbella’s conversation with Blithe. When Grimbella moved toward their hiding spot, Caoimhe’s Capto spell fizzled, but Finlay Figgins’s quick Infirma Cerebra confused her long enough for them to escape.
Later, Otto Noxley used Polyjuice Potion to transform into Grimbella to bluff past Bixby Wizzlethorpe and Blithe—successfully impersonating the gruff goblin professor long enough to escape a dangerous situation. Whether Grimbella suspects students have been borrowing her likeness remains to be seen.
