Minor Splinch
Description
A Minor Splinch is a mild form of Splinching — the magical accident that occurs when Apparition goes slightly wrong. During a Minor Splinch, the caster leaves behind a small portion of themselves upon arrival, such as fingernails, a clump of hair, a patch of skin, or their eyebrows.
While painful and unpleasant, a Minor Splinch is not life-threatening. It can typically be treated with basic healing magic or a simple application of Essence Of Dittany. Minor Splinching is a common occurrence among students learning to Apparate, and most witches and wizards experience it at least once during their training.
Game Mechanics
In game terms, a Minor Splinch represents a partial failure during an Apparition attempt. It causes discomfort and minor injury but does not incapacitate the character.
