Description
Agatha appears as a translucent woman in tattered robes, her ink-stained fingers and glowing blue eyes marking her as both scholar and specter. Her presence chills the air and stirs the pages of nearby books.
Personality
Agatha is cold, sharp, and utterly humorless, ruling the Restricted Section’s second level with spectral precision and zero tolerance for meddling students. Those who treat her collection with true reverence may earn a cryptic clue or grudging favor.
Background
Once the most exacting librarian Hogwarts ever had, Agatha Blackthorn died beneath a collapsing shelf of cursed tomes and returned as its eternal guardian. Professors avoid her, students fear her, and the books—some say—obey her.
Story
Agatha became a recurring obstacle in Caoimhe Keelan, Finlay Figgins, and Otto Noxley’s repeated raids on The Restricted Section. During their first heist to retrieve Crying Roots: Ethical Alchemy, they cast Accio to summon the book—but it zipped through the air right past Agatha. The ghost librarian shrieked in fury and gave chase.
Agatha tried to drain their life force. Otto and Caoimhe were badly hurt before Finlay’s Episky spell kept them moving. They barely escaped with the book as animated armor reanimated behind them.
On subsequent trips, the party learned to avoid Agatha’s patrol routes through the Restricted Section’s second level, slipping past her to reach the deeper Firefly Cellar. Her spectral vigilance makes every library heist a deadly risk.
